Volunteering

We love our volunteers!

Would you like to volunteer your time or service to help the students of the Vail Academy and High School? If so, you have come to the right spot.

At VAHS we believe in the saying, “It takes a whole village to raise a child.” With your help we hope to do just that. By demonstrating to students that adults care about them and their opportunities we are encouraging students to do well and stay focused on their education. If you have any questions you may email our volunteer coordinator, Kariela Sigala at sigalak@vailschooldistrict.org

The Vail School district utilizes an online volunteer application system. Click on the link below to access the online application.

 – Online Application

Please note that if you are not a legal guardian (including grandparents, aunts, uncles, older siblings and friends), you will need a fingerprint card along with the online application and affidavit. Fingerprint cards and a list of fingerprint locations are available in our front office. You will be required to have a photo ID and pay a small processing fee (approximately $5-$10).

When volunteering, please be sure to check IN and OUT of the office. We ask that you sign the Volunteer Book and wear a visitor badge. For security and emergency situations, it is important for administrators to know who is on campus and where. It is equally important to know who is on field trips for these same reasons. In addition, the district must have records showing days and hours volunteers worked for the purpose of liability. Lastly, a record of each volunteer’s hours will enable the school to evaluate it’s volunteer program and recognize volunteers for their contribution.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
